CCHS operates four separate, distinct adoption programs for cats. Meet our adorable, adoptable cats in the Adoption Gallery.
Our cats at Kitty Corner in Pleasant Hill and Pet Food Express Cat Adoption Center in Danville can be met by dropping in during cat adoption hours. If you’re interested in meeting a cat in foster care, please complete an adoption application on the cat’s profile page. Once your application has been submitted and received, it will be reviewed and you will be contacted. Applications are processed based on the order received and the most suitable match for the cat. We may have cats and kittens who aren’t yet available for adoption, so please check back frequently! Descriptions of each program, adoption fees and services provided are detailed below.
Kitty Corner is a program operated by CCHS in partnership with Contra Costa County Animal Services. As a private shelter, Kitty Corner houses cats of all ages and needs. Our free-roam, cage-free environment allows adopters to engage with adoptable cats in a living room-like space where they can get the most accurate idea of each cat’s personality. Cats can be adopted during Kitty Corner adoption hours.
Pet Food Express (PFE) Cat Adoption Center, Danville
The Pet Food Express Cat Adoption Center is a program operated by CCHS in partnership with Pet Food Express. Cats are housed in luxurious, spacious four-story cat condos where the public can interact with them and meet them in a private cat adoption room to get to know each cat better. Cats can be adopted during PFE Danville Cat Adoption Center hours.
Cats available through the CCHS Foster Program are those that due to behavior or medical reasons require special care which is best given in a home environment. These cats are available for adoption by appointment.

- $90.00 for one cat
- $150.00 for two cats

Re-Homing Assistance Program
CCHS’s Re-Homing Assistance Program is a service provided to the public when they can no longer care for their companion cats and dogs. Oftentimes, a situation arises in which an animal must be re-homed, and after exploring all other options, CCHS will post a photo and biography of the companion animal available for re-homing. These are not animals in CCHS foster care; rather, CCHS acts as a third-party advertising method for the animal.
All Re-Homing Assistance Program animals are spayed/neutered and current on their vaccines. If you are interested in adopting a cat available through CCHS’s Re-Homing Assistance Program, please contact the cat’s guardian using the email or contact number provided in the cat’s biography. If it seems like a good match, a meeting time will be set by the guardian, who will make the final adoption decision.
Adoption fees are determined by the animal’s guardian. CCHS typically recommends an adoption fee of at least $50-$100.
